Scutellaria baicalensis, the name of Chinese medicine. Also known as Camellia sinensis root and Tujin tea root, it is a perennial herbaceous plant of the genus Scutellaria baicalensis in the Lamiaceae family. It has thick fleshy rhizomes, hard and papery leaves, lanceolate to linear-lanceolate shape, and racemes are terminal on stems and branches, with corollas. Purple, purple-red to blue, flat filaments, slender style, ring-shaped flower disc, brown ovary, small ovoid nuts, flower and fruit period from July to September.
